These are Adobe Acrobat pdf files which should open on any computer and are up to about 10 Mbytes in size.  Thanks to Keith Dodge (1964-70), Steve Knobbs (1976-81), Brian Hillman (1968-75) and others for the help in scanning these in and preparing them for the website.  Also many thanks to Steve Page (1963-70), John Jameson (1951-56), Phil Widdowson (1966-73), Brian Partridge (1948-55), Bruce Longstaff (1955-61), the late Ken House, Barbara Elsmore (of the Sherborne Museum) and others who have posted in copies of the magazine to be scanned in, some from very far away (e.g. Tasmania).

July 2021 – Due to the generosity of the Gibling family (who donated the collection of David Gibling, ex pupil and son of master and headmaster Robert Gibling 1909-1947) we have recently been able to complete the collection of all the separate magazines from 1932 to 1948.

Wanted – 1908 to 1932 – most likely now only available in Sherborne museum.

Arnold. I saw your entry in Spring 2013 magazine. i believe that I invited you to my home to see the coronation of the Queen on TV. I remember your name as Rakowski. I also met Peter Perry in NZ and when he lived again in Sherborne, but he’s now back in NZ. Hoping this reply enables further contact.

I am somewhat surprised that we have gaps in the years published of the magazine. The school library had bound copies of them all. I wonder where they went along with all the other books. I dread to think. I remember we had all of MacMillan’s autobiography [5 or 6 volumes] which no one ever read and a wonderful French/English slang dictionary full of smut [in the reference section, of course] which was used almost daily.
Somewhere I have all the Fosterians from 1971 so will start hunting.

The bound copies are still about but they’re hard to scan in without damaging the binding. I have inquired about getting them scanned professionally which would not damage them but it’s very expensive. Last quote I got was about £600!
